Clean architectural lines are introduced throughout, intersecting with textured surfaces and patterned elements to produce moments of contrast and cohesion. The result is a spatial language that feels both grounded and fluid—where identity is embedded without overwhelming the integrity of the original house.

The home is reorganised vertically to support different modes of living. The ground floor is opened up and structured around entertainment and relaxation, encouraging social interaction and connection to the garden. A new entrance lobby establishes a strong threshold, incorporating bespoke flooring, integrated storage for coats and shoes, and considered lighting that sets the tone for the rest of the home.

The living room is designed as a warm and inviting space, anchored by generous seating and flexible surfaces that support everyday rituals—from games to informal dining. A new serving hatch connects the kitchen and dining room, strengthening visual and functional links, while the dining area opens directly onto a patio that extends into the garden. The kitchen itself is oriented to overlook this outdoor space, anticipating a future physical connection.

The first floor is dedicated to family life. The master suite is enlarged to include a walk-in wardrobe and generous bathroom. Two children’s bedrooms sit alongside, connected by a shared family bathroom where playful yet subtle tiling introduces moments of character without overpowering the calmness of the spaces.

The top floor becomes a quieter, more introspective level—housing a study, meditation room, and media space, alongside integrated storage. These rooms provide areas for focus and retreat, completing the home’s balance between sociability and privacy.

Overall, Amherst Road is a home shaped by the intersection of cultures, functions, and architectural languages, crafted to support a dynamic family life while remaining deeply connected to its origins. At Beyond Design, we believe that every detail should respond to the needs and aspirations of the people who use the space. This project reflects our commitment to creating environments that are both functional and uplifting, where identity and integrity coexist harmoniously.
