The architectural approach draws directly from the surrounding residential typologies, referencing the scale, rhythm and material language of the area. Local heritage and cultural identity are reinterpreted through contemporary detailing, patterns and a robust material palette, allowing the scheme to feel rooted in place while clearly of its time.
The two buildings are strategically positioned to frame a shared central courtyard, creating a calm and attractive communal heart for residents. A series of smart setbacks, shifts in massing and material changes help to break down the overall scale of the development, ensuring a comfortable relationship with neighbouring properties while improving daylight, outlook and privacy across the site. Carefully considered access routes to the rear of the plot support permeability, legibility and ease of movement for both residents and visitors.

The courtyard provides a range of shared amenities designed to encourage everyday interaction and a sense of belonging, reinforcing the social dimension of residential living. Private and communal spaces are clearly defined yet visually connected, supporting both individual retreat and collective life.
At Beyond Design, we believe that housing should do more than provide homes. This project reflects our commitment to context-led design, advocacy for local identity, and the creation of environments that foster connection, character and long-term value. Through collaboration, careful analysis and thoughtful design, the scheme delivers a contemporary residential development that contributes positively to its neighbourhood and the lives of its residents.
