The design prioritises openness and permeability. Dining areas spill out into shaded verandahs and landscaped courts, encouraging outdoor use and natural ventilation, while covered walkways connect seamlessly with surrounding sports fields and communal spaces. Inside, clear zoning separates kitchen operations from social areas, ensuring efficiency without compromising comfort.

Two concept approaches are explored: a single-storey pavilion that integrates closely with the landscape, and a more compact two-storey option that consolidates functions while freeing additional open space. Both strategies emphasise passive cooling, deep overhangs and durable, locally resonant materials.
