Torrent Pharma’s new office is a 15,000 sq ft open-plan workplace located within one of Mumbai’s most sought-after commercial towers in Dadar. With 270-degree views across the city’s eastern and western waterfronts, the space reflects the company’s position as one of India’s leading pharmaceutical organisations while supporting contemporary ways of working.

The office accommodates approximately 120 employees within an open-plan layout, complemented by senior management cabins and a series of open and enclosed shared spaces for collaboration and informal interaction. As part of the brief, areas for external visitors and internal teams are carefully separated to ensure privacy and security. This is achieved through considered spatial planning and organisation rather than the overuse of physical barriers, maintaining openness and visual connectivity throughout the workplace.
The design offers a fresh interpretation of the company’s existing brand language. Key architectural features, including the exposed ribbed concrete ceiling, have been retained, while new interventions draw inspiration from Japanese spatial principles through the use of proportion, restraint and materiality. These are balanced with blue-chip terrazzo finishes and feature lighting, introducing warmth and vibrancy to the interior.
Performance and comfort were central to the design approach. Acoustic control and access to natural light have been carefully integrated through both planning and specification. A clear, repetitive spatial order establishes a sense of calm and coherence, punctuated by subtle moments of variation that create identifiable places to gather, collaborate and share ideas.
